WorldWho is behind ‘Black Rus,’ the group claiming an armed incursion into Latvia from Belarus?
The group calling itself “Black Rus” says it was behind an October 6 border incident in which masked armed men threatened Latvian soldiers, damaged an electrical distribution panel, took surveillance cameras and returned to Belarus. Experts quoted by Latvian media called the group an intelligence-services project. Alexander Lukashenko accused Latvia of staging the incident and denied Belarusian involvement. Latvia’s interior minister suggested Russian or Belarusian intelligence may be responsible, while stressing that this remains a theory without evidence.
