TechMAI and Tupolev begin work on two-person Tu-214 cockpit
Engineers from the Moscow Aviation Institute and Tupolev have started studying changes to the Tu-214’s flight controls to reduce the cockpit crew from three to two by removing the flight engineer role. Program participants will develop a preliminary cost estimate, schedule and industry cooperation roadmap, with results due for review by the end of October.
