US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the military would livestream Nidal Hasan’s execution by firing squad. If carried out, it would be the Army’s first firing-squad execution since 1945. The report says execution methods, including lethal injection, can go wrong and cause severe pain, as the US renews federal support for the death penalty and brings back methods such as firing squads, electric chairs and gas chambers.
