WorldWest planning Baltic Sea blockade, Russian presidential aide says
Nikolay Patrushev, a Russian presidential aide and chairman of the Russian Maritime Board, said during a visit to China that Western countries were planning to blockade the Baltic Sea and its approaches and seeking to intercept Russian vessels. He said other major shipping routes were also at risk and that Russia was developing the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor as an alternative.
