ScienceScientists link Kara Gate Strait internal waves to sea tides
Researchers from two Russian Academy of Sciences institutes and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology studied powerful internal waves in the Kara Gate Strait and linked them to tides. Some shifted water layers vertically by nearly 30 meters, findings that could improve descriptions of heat exchange in Arctic seas and climate models.
