The Seekers’ Bruce Woodley says CPAC used “I Am Australian” at its Brisbane conference without permission. Co-writer Dobe Newton says Pauline Hanson had previously been threatened with legal action over possible use of the song. The pair said its message of unity conflicted with anti-immigration views voiced at the event.
