A coronial inquest has opened into the death of eight-year-old Elizabeth Struhs, who died in 2022 after members of the Saints religious sect withdrew her insulin. The hearing was told a medical specialist had warned in 2019 that she could not safely return to her mother’s care. All 14 adult sect members, including her parents, were convicted of manslaughter.
