WHO representative to China Martin Taylor said the country had made “great progress” in improving population health, expanding healthcare coverage and strengthening public health services. Life expectancy has exceeded 79 years, and basic medical insurance covers more than 95% of the population. He urged continued investment in primary care and healthier lifestyles, and noted AI’s potential in health-system planning. WHO will keep working with China on Healthy China 2030 and South-South cooperation.
