Retired Gen. Philip Breedlove warned that a diesel agreement between Trump and Russia could give Putin revenue for his war and let Moscow buy time through negotiations. Trump said Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an energy ceasefire, but Zelenskyy said Kyiv had not been told of a finalized deal and would halt attacks on Russian energy sites if Moscow reciprocated. He said Putin had answered earlier de-escalation proposals with “nyet” and reported more than 200 Russian strikes on Ukrainian power facilities in a week.
