CultureInside Ukraine's world of naive art — and the Gunia aesthetic it inspired

French publisher Assouline and Ukrainian fashion and design brand Gunia Project have released “Naive My Love,” a book showcasing Ukrainian naive and folk art, with work and biographies of about 40 self-taught artists. It features artists including Maria Prymachenko and Polina Raiko, whose Oleshky home was nearly destroyed by flooding in 2023. Gunia designers draw on expeditions to reinterpret folk traditions in contemporary products.
