TechNewer AI models missed more payment fraud in Coinbase benchmark

Coinbase said a historical test of its Onramp payment screening found newer versions of three major AI model families detected a smaller share of fraud cases and fraud value than their predecessors, despite an unchanged decision policy. The company separately reported that a specialized Qwen3.5-9B model outperformed Opus 4.5 on four fraud-detection metrics.
