Mahmoud Abbas issued a decree delaying the legislative vote planned for next month until September 11, 2027, when it will be held alongside a presidential election. The PLO Executive Committee said conditions in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza were unsuitable for elections, citing Israel’s refusal to allow election materials or international observers into Gaza.
