ScienceChina's FAST telescope finds rare triple-star system still evolving
Chinese astronomers used the FAST radio telescope to discover J0435+3233, a rare evolving three-star system that includes a pulsar. Combining five years of radio observations with infrared, optical and gamma-ray data, researchers identified a distant third star whose gravitational pull explains the pulsar's unusually rapid increase in spin period. The system could help scientists study stellar evolution and theories of gravity.
