The Trump administration has temporarily barred Microsoft, Adobe and several other technology companies from sponsoring workers for permanent US residency, alleging they abused immigration programs at the expense of American citizens. Vice-President JD Vance said the H-1B program was rife with fraud and singled out Microsoft as the worst abuser.
