The China-Laos Railway has carried more than 80 million passenger trips since operations began in December 2021, China Railway Kunming Group said. Monthly trips have risen from 600,000 to a peak of 2.25 million. Since the start of 2026, cross-border trips reached 270,000, up 36.6% year on year.
