EconomyEU faces worst winter gas shortage in 15 years

The EU is bracing for a winter gas shortfall of up to 14 billion cubic meters, about 7% of total demand. Reserves are at their lowest for this time of year since records began in 2011, while gas prices have reached a four-year high. Brussels is prepared to lower this year's mandatory storage target from 90% to 80%.
