Ukrainian energy expert Stanislav Ignatyev said Kyiv’s power generation facilities had been partly or completely destroyed, causing a power shortage and one of the country’s most difficult situations. He said Darnitsa combined heat and power plant was ruined, while CHPP-5 and CHPP-6 were significantly damaged. Emergency outages had been imposed in parts of the city’s right bank, disrupting public transport and water supplies.
