WorldPhotos: War transforms the city of Gaza

Archive and recent images show Gaza’s streets, landmarks and public spaces transformed after three years of war. The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics says more than 80 percent of buildings have been damaged or destroyed since Israel launched its war on the enclave in October 2023. UNESCO has verified damage to 164 cultural sites, including historic buildings, religious sites, monuments, archaeological sites and museums.
