WorldAxios: US military told to prepare for Iran strikes ahead of midterms
The Pentagon told US Central Command days ago to prepare for renewed major combat operations in Iran, Axios reported, citing US officials. US and Israeli sources said strikes could come before the Nov. 3 US midterms, possibly before Israel’s election a week earlier, and could target Iranian energy, infrastructure and nuclear facilities. The report says the war has raised fuel and living costs. A Reuters/Ipsos poll put Donald Trump’s approval at 32%, unchanged from September and a career low.
