WorldChina nominates Song Li for WHO director-general
China’s Foreign Ministry confirmed on Thursday that it had nominated Song Li, who has worked in maternal and child health for more than 20 years, for WHO director-general. Spokeswoman Mao Ning said the move reflects China’s support for multilateralism and the WHO. Six candidates proposed by other countries were listed on the WHO website, with the full nominee list expected after regional committee meetings in early November.
