Quarantine has been lifted in Russia’s Irkutsk region after a technician at a local anti-plague institute died on Oct. 2. Early reports raised the possibility that 28-year-old Darya Shipilova died of pneumonic plague following a laboratory accident. The governor said nearly 5,000 tests found no dangerous pathogens and that safety procedures had been confirmed.
