French finance minister Roland Lescure said the UK would be welcome to return to the EU after Prime Minister Andy Burnham pledged to explore closer ties with the bloc. Burnham’s options include the current arrangements, a customs union, the single market or full membership. Lescure said Britain could rejoin discussions on shared challenges.
