SocietyBachelor star Sam Wood denied bail over alleged choking and assault

A Queensland court denied Sam Wood bail after hearing a woman alleged the former Bachelor star choked and assaulted her, leaving her thinking she would die. Prosecutors said his behaviour was escalating and he posed an unacceptable risk. Police had also visited his Victorian home over a similar allegation about three years ago; the woman did not complain then, fearing retribution. Wood denies the charges.
