Tech“Software is over”: AI developer targets Adobe with open-source clones

Artcraft has pivoted to a suite of seven open-source apps modeled on the interfaces and tools of Adobe products such as Photoshop and Illustrator. Developer Brandon Thomas says he used Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5.5 to build “clean-room replacements” in Rust; the software remains in a very early alpha stage.
