PoliticsGermany’s AfD and left-wing populist BSW plan joint move to end Ukraine aid and restore ties with Russia
The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) and left-wing populist Union for Social Justice plan to introduce their first joint resolution in Saxony-Anhalt’s state parliament. It calls for an end to military aid to Ukraine, restored economic ties with Russia and an end to sanctions. The parties hold 44 seats combined, a majority. A vote is scheduled for October 14, but is expected to be symbolic because state governments cannot shape German foreign policy.
