PoliticsPutin turns 74 as officials and kindergarteners across Russia are made to wish him happy birthday

Kindergarteners in several Russian regions were made to record birthday greetings for Vladimir Putin, while officials received detailed directions on their posts, according to independent outlets Agentstvo and Verstka. Agentstvo counted at least 1,100 campaign posts on VKontakte. In Bashkortostan, instructions set a deadline and required a Putin quote about the region. Verstka found many officials’ greetings used nearly identical wording.
