Lawyers said Tuesday that a woman who survived a failed execution at a US prison last week is now conscious and speaking, though her prognosis is unclear. Christa Pike, 50, was given two supposedly lethal doses of pentobarbital at a Tennessee prison a week ago. She was sentenced to death for a murder committed as a teenager.
