Europe’s ability to secure LNG before the heating season is constrained because Asian spot prices have remained above those at the TTF hub since the second half of September. Asian prices averaged 8% higher, making the Asia-Pacific market more attractive to suppliers. EU storage was 72.83% full on October 5, well below the five-year average, while the European Commission may lower this year’s target to 80%.
