Abstract, a consumer-focused Ethereum layer-2, will shut down on Dec. 15 despite attracting more than 400,000 users, hosting 144 apps and signing brands such as Disney and Red Bull Racing. It cited stagnant growth, weak liquidity, constrained DeFi activity and limited institutional crossover. Igloo CEO Luca Netz said supporting the network cost tens of millions of dollars, while funds left on-chain after the deadline will become inaccessible.
