EconomyShell refineries forecast to make double the profit from every barrel of fuel

Shell expects refining margins to reach $42 a barrel in the July-to-September quarter, nearly twice the previous quarter’s $24, as fuel shortages drive prices higher amid refinery shutdowns in the Middle East and Russia. The company reported almost $10bn in second-quarter profit and expects gas production to recover to 740,000–780,000 BOED.
