TechGoogle ordered to halt work on Finnish datacentres over environmental concerns

Finland’s Licensing and Supervision Authority has ordered Google to stop preparatory work at planned datacentres in Muhos and Kajaani by 23 October at the latest, saying required environmental impact assessments were incomplete. Large areas of forest have already been cleared. Google said it understood the concerns and had fallen short of its own standards.
