Russia’s embassy in Japan said Moscow would continue answering Tokyo’s sanctions with systemic countermeasures designed to hurt Japanese interests in sensitive areas. It accused Tokyo of contradicting its calls for a peaceful settlement by promoting further defense cooperation with Kyiv and warned Japan would bear full responsibility for the inevitable negative consequences. Japan recently expanded its Russia-related sanctions list.
