US President Donald Trump has approved a firing-squad execution for former army officer Nidal Malik Hasan, convicted of killing 13 people and wounding 32 in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting. If carried out, it would revive executions in the US Army, which last conducted one in 1961. The date is yet to be set, and Hasan could still appeal in civilian federal court.
