Irkutsk Region is recording about 16,000 acute respiratory viral infection cases a week, with no increase over the past 14 days, Russia’s consumer watchdog said. Online rumors had claimed that a female employee of an anti-plague institute had plague, but the agency said she was diagnosed with pneumonia of undetermined etiology.
