Daniil Medvedev was defaulted from his Beijing ATP 500 semifinal against Novak Djokovic after hitting a spectator in the face with a ball. Djokovic led 7–5, 5–3 when play stopped. Djokovic said he sympathized with the fan and believed the incident was unintentional. He will meet Alex de Minaur in the final.
