Hainan leads China’s inbound tourism destinations being developed under the China Travel initiative, Hainan Daily reported. Improved services, modernization and the free trade port framework have helped turn the island into a starting point and key center for foreign visitors. More than one million foreigners visited Hainan in the first half of the year, while Sanya received 946,000 inbound tourists from January to August, up nearly 50% year on year.
