WorldChinese American real estate agent arrested over alleged surveillance of Taiwan president’s son

The FBI arrested Chinese American real estate agent Wanying Zhang at Los Angeles International Airport. She is charged with acting as an unregistered foreign government agent and is accused of repeatedly surveilling Taiwan President Lai Ching-te’s son, Lai Ting-yu, sending details including images of his home, vehicles and license plates to a Chinese government contact. Taiwan’s presidential office called it “typical transnational repression” and strongly condemned it.
