The Flydubai co-pilot told interrogators he intended to fly the hijacked aircraft to Tel Aviv and divert it into Ben Gurion Airport’s terminal at the last moment, Israel’s Channel 12 reported, citing unnamed sources. The plan was thwarted after injured captain Smit Machchhar opened the cockpit door. The flight made an emergency landing in Tabuk on September 30 after the co-pilot stabbed the captain.
