PoliticsBrazil votes in high-stakes election between Lula and Flavio Bolsonaro

Brazilians began voting Sunday in a closely watched presidential election between incumbent Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and right-wing Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro. Nearly 160 million voters are also choosing lawmakers, senators and governors, in a contest that could determine whether Latin America’s largest country follows the regional shift to the right championed by US President Donald Trump.
