PoliticsBrazilians begin voting in tight Lula–Flavio Bolsonaro election

Brazilians began voting Sunday in a closely fought presidential contest between incumbent Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and right-wing Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro. Nearly 160 million voters are also choosing lawmakers, senators and governors, in a vote that could determine whether Latin America’s largest country joins the rightward regional shift promoted by Donald Trump.
