SocietyNigeria kidnappings keep farmers from fields, threaten food security

Kidnappings in northern Nigeria are driving farmers from their fields, leaving crops unharvested and raising food-security concerns. More than 80 people remain missing after mass abductions in Niger and Zamfara states. Officials say about 50,000 police officers are being deployed, while rural communities remain vulnerable because security coverage is limited.
