WorldIsraeli pilot explains ‘crazy’ FlyDubai landing and urges stronger screening
Eliran Almog, a former Israeli Air Force pilot and aviation cybersecurity CEO, said it was remarkable that FlyDubai flight 1073 landed safely after copilot Hamam al-Hammami allegedly stabbed Capt. Smit Machchhar during the flight. The aircraft plunged more than 14,000 feet in 30 seconds before passengers subdued the copilot and another crew stabilized the plane for an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. Almog called for continuous screening of pilots for psychological and potential political risks.
