The UAE prosecutor general said the co-pilot of Flydubai flight FZ1073 used a cockpit crash axe to attack the captain and tried to seize control of the Israel-bound aircraft in an attempted “terrorist attack”. Passengers and crew subdued him, stabilised the plane and helped it make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. The flight carried 182 people.
