Politics‘We have to close defence gaps urgently’: EU Parliament foreign affairs chief McAllister

David McAllister, chair of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, discusses the security threats facing Europe and the defence gaps the EU urgently needs to close. He says the EU is not at war with Russia but is no longer at peace with it, and remains unable to make sovereign decisions in some defence areas because of its dependence on US capabilities.
