A nationwide French high-school protest over overcrowded classes and teacher shortages has brought clashes with police, street fires and school blockades. At least 400 of the country’s 3,700 high schools were closed Friday, while 560 reported protests or disruption. At least 170 students and 65 staff members were injured, and more than 100 schools suffered severe damage.
