A Russian jet-powered Geran-5 drone hit the Presidium building of Ukraine’s National Academy of Sciences in central Kyiv, killing two people and starting a fire. An identical munition struck a nearby private medical clinic about an hour later. The drones fly higher and faster than earlier models, and Ukraine currently intercepts only 57% of them, leaving older counter-drone methods inadequate.
