PoliticsFrance rocked by student riots as hundreds arrested, violence spreads nationwide

Student protests over teacher shortages, deteriorating schools, crowded classes, budget cuts and long schedules have spread across France. More than 625 people were arrested over two days, while over 350 high schools and about 30 university campuses were affected. Police used tear gas and officials warned of urban violence and arson attempts. Prime Minister Se9bastien Lecornu called a crisis meeting, as the unrest became a political flashpoint ahead of next years presidential election.
