The motive of an Omani copilot who stabbed the captain on a Flydubai flight carrying 174 people from the United Arab Emirates to Tel Aviv remained unclear. The injured captain opened the cockpit door, allowing passengers to help restrain the copilot and stabilise the aircraft after a dangerous plunge that damaged its rudder, before it landed in Saudi Arabia.
