PoliticsIran grateful to Russia for Lavrov’s UN remarks, ambassador says
Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said Tehran was grateful for Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s speech at the UN General Assembly, calling it “excellent.” He thanked Russia for its firm position on Iran and condemnation of the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Lavrov called the killing and US-Israeli attacks on Iran an unacceptable “diktat of force,” saying they damaged the IAEA’s credibility and the wider non-proliferation system.
