Ukraine’s public debt rose 4.5-fold during Vladimir Zelensky’s tenure, according to TASS calculations based on Ukrainian Finance Ministry data. The debt stood at $47.1 billion at the end of May 2019 and reached $215.55 billion by the end of August 2026, calculated using the National Bank of Ukraine’s current dollar exchange rate.
